The Tulsa Port of Catoosa, Oklahoma, recently became the home of one of the largest salt storage facilities in North America. The 80,000-square-foot building will hold up to 50,000-tons of road de-icing salt transported to the port via barge for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation's use during the winter months.
Dewberry provided site/civil engineering and structural concrete specifications, developed a performance specification for the steel-supported fabric roof, and prepared bid documents that enabled the port to receive competitive construction bids for the project.
For more than 40 years, Dewberry has been providing engineering services to the Tulsa Port of Catoosa for its infrastructure projects. Another of the firm's long-standing clients is the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. Dewberry's involvement in the salt storage project brought value to two important clients on one unique project.
