Under contract to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), we developed the 3D Nation Elevation Requirements and Benefits Study to document national requirements for improved topographic and bathymetric data, estimate the benefits and costs of meeting these requirements, and evaluate national program implementation scenarios. The results showed that an improved national elevation program could generate $13.5 -billion in new benefits each year once fully operational. Questions regarding the report should be directed to NOAA and [email protected].
Under contract to the USGS, we developed a report on the National Enhanced Elevation Assessment that found an improved program has the potential to generate $1.2 billion to $13 billion in new benefits each year once fully operational.
Under contract to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), we developed a report documenting the results of the National Hydrography Requirements and Benefits Study. We collected more than 400 responses from federal agencies, commissions, non-profits, private
and commercial entities, and local, state, and tribal governments from across the 50 states, Washington, D.C., and American Samoa. The report gives USGS a far greater understanding of the requirements and benefits associated with potential enhancements
to a national hydrographic data program, one that-if all reported requirements were met-would help users realize an estimated $602.5 million in annual program benefits.
