Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that Jerry Mrykalo, PE, PTOE, DBIA, will lead the firm’s mid-Atlantic transportation business unit. Based in the Fairfax, Virginia, office, Mrykalo will lead the 110-person team, overseeing roadway, structural, hydraulic, and traffic engineering design and environmental permitting for many of the firm’s regional clients, including the Virginia Department of Transportation, Maryland Transportation Authority, and Maryland State Highway Administration.
Mrykalo has been with Dewberry for 20 years and previously served as department manager for its mid-Atlantic traffic engineering practice. He served as lead traffic engineer for major design-build and design-bid-build transportation projects across the region, including the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project Phase 2, Intercounty Connector (ICC), and projects throughout the I-64, I-66, and I-81 corridors in Virginia.

Mrykalo earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Pennsylvania State University (2005). He serves on the Engineering Consultant Leadership Committee for the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance and was named a 2019 Top Young Professional by Engineering News-Record Mid-Atlantic.
