Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Gardens

Honoring a National Legacy
Raleigh, North Carolina

Originally completed in 1990, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Gardens was one of the first public parks in America dedicated solely to the memory of Dr. King and the civil rights movement. In 2015, detailed designs and funding for phase 2 were approved by the City of Raleigh and construction began shortly after. We provided construction administration and closeout services. The upgrades to the park include the addition of extra acreage, a comfort station, pavilion, redesigned parking, and an enlarged pedestrian plaza. A future interactive screen wall and civil rights path remain to be implemented.
