Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax Tier One Pedestrian Safety projects

Our work began with the Old Peachtree Road sidewalk. Our team provided a comprehensive concept development plan, which included signal improvement evaluations at the busy intersection of Old Peachtree and Bunten roads. This project also included subsurface utility engineering quality level B (SUE QL-B) database preparations and site survey work, leading GCDOT to utilize our final concept plans to implement a rapid response construction project.

Other key task orders related to this contract include the Lee Road sidewalk and Venture Drive pedestrian improvements, which are both classified as Tier One Pedestrian Safety projects in the GCDOT’s 2023 SPLOST program. The Lee Road project design involves converting the eastbound lane from a rural to urban-typical section, including the associated urban drainage system and utility accommodation. Our design for Venture Drive includes new sidewalks and surrounding grass buffers to safely increase pedestrian mobility in the commercial Gwinnett Place Community Improvement District.

Our focus on increasing connectivity and improving pedestrian mobility while emphasizing safety contributes to the GCDOT’s ability to meet its goals of resilience and system preservation.
