We calculated island-wide estimates of the types and replacement costs of residential building losses and rehabilitation or reconstruction options. We also collected data on the costs for substantially damaged properties and retrofitting options and costs for non-substantially damaged properties. Using GIS data from a variety of sources and engineering expertise, we prepared and executed analysis methodologies to develop these estimates, and summarized the results in tabular form for a final report that RAND prepared for Puerto Rico’s presentation to Congress.
Over the course of the project, we provided surveying, platting, mapping, and floodplain studies services.
