For a six-phase, 2.4-million-square-foot secured government campus facility in Northern Virginia, we are providing the MEP engineering for both base buildings and tenant interiors. The project includes mission-critical facilities for the federal government, a full-service kitchen, fitness center, conference center, telecommunication/server rooms, computer LAN rooms, and SCIF areas. Building power is supplied from a medium-voltage central utility plant. Each building contains both utility power backed up by a paralleled generator plant and UPS power for critical systems. The third phase, a 425,000-square-foot, LEED® Platinum building, includes an 8,000-ton chilled water central utility plant, which helped it achieve the maximum in energy-related points in the LEED rating system. We are working closely with HGA Architects and Engineers and long-time client The Peterson Companies.
