Designing a Collaborative Environment

The center transforms the culture of learning by providing students with a distinctive cross-disciplinary educational model that prepares graduates to meet the needs and challenges of a global marketplace.

The Product Realization Laboratory allow students to collaborate ideas, then move into the design, development, prototyping, financing, marketing, piloting, manufacturing, and distribution of a product.

The building’s interior soaks in natural daylight through its transparent south façade and sun control systems. A 3D sun diagram helps the owner identify various strategies for solar control on the west, south, and east sides.

The centerpieces of the facility are innovative and commercialized laboratories, where business and engineering students - the equivalent of a small company - can work together to complete projects.

Designed using a modern interpretation of collegiate gothic architecture, the 390,000-SF facility includes more than 60 classrooms, three auditoriums, social space for students and faculty, breakout rooms, conference space, and a café.

Designed to combine the College of Business and the College of Engineering into a shared facility, the new Bradley University Convergence Center allows each college to maintain separate identities, while sharing common support functions.
